Ford Mustang in 2015 was able to outsell the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger. The Mustang has 12,563 sales, while the other two sports coupes combined sales only added up to 12,248 units.
Demand in the United States came from coastal markets especially Southern California opting for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine.
MSN reported Since last summer, over 16,600 Ford Mustang orders have been placed in Europe, while the model is currently sold out through 2017 in Australia as it waits for an extra allotment of cars. In Germany, the convertible Mustang had the highest international take-rate, with one in three sales. Markets like China and the U.K. had limited availability, but still managed to help the Ford Mustang reach a total nameplate sale of 141,868 vehicles globally.
The Ford Mustang was the only sports car that responded well with over 100, 000 units sold.
